I am really leaning into my self-care right now. I’m working less, I’m watching tv less, I’m cooking less, I’m eating less foods that make me sad (yeah you, boring-ass salad) and more foods that bring me comfort and make me happy.
Since being back in Southern California, I’ve loved being on this sunny sofa and reading all day at our Airbnb. We’re here at least until the end of September and I can definitely get used to these lazy + rewarding days. It’s something I wasn’t really able to do over the past few months while we were packing and getting our florida home ready to get back on the market (you can see our house listing here).
It feels good to relax and not have to rush to get out of the way for contractors that are going in and out of the house all day like they were in Florida since May.
Although I still have days that crush me with anxiety, they are happening less. My overall health isn’t great, but it feels so good to get up early in the morning, walk to the beach, and have time all to myself. Hopefully, I can find a path to better health soon.
Wrapping myself in a blanket is the ultimate comfort move for me and always makes me feel better when I’m having an off day. Cable knit throws are just the right weight for a summer afternoon – not too light and not too heavy.
I love seeing homes that have pops of color – it’s unexpected, makes me smile, and adds contrast. Colorful sofas are a great way to bring in color to your living room without overwhelming everything.
